Can I use Micro SD for DSLR?

Hello community,

I am new to this dslr earth and I will be purchasing my first dslr this weekend.

The simply cam i am familiar with is a Gopro. I ve been using Gopro for quite a while and I felt so express with it, that's why I am buying a Dslr!

Gopro uses Class 10 Micro SD, and I accept "Sandisk Micro SD Farthermost Plus 64gb" & a "32gb".

(Delight check the link below)

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DM1BDPK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3R1I9CVBDF12K&coliid=IFSIU93MEI4SK&psc=1

It seems that with an adapter yous can use this card with a dslr, merely practise people use it this way?

is at that place whatever reason I shouldn't? or is there any reason why I should?

I am still going to use Gopro so if there isn't any problem with it, I was going to purchase some other one of these, and then I can use information technology dorsum and along, that way I am less limited on the memeory with 2 different photographic camera.

If it is better to get regular memory carte like the link below

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DN43UHU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3R1I9CVBDF12K&coliid=I350A4WIJXIPIG&psc=1

what size do you recommend? I am going to exist using it mainly for filming over photography.

I apologize for many questions!

Thanks

The principal reason most people don't apply a micro SDHC card is most of them are course ten cards and in guild to get the fast moving objects you lot need a faster class of card.  The grade rating is a number that defines how fast the camera can write to the card, the slowest is the class x card and the fastest is the class 1.  Once again yous volition need a lower number class if you want to get those quick moving objects such every bit the players in an soccer game.  This is the reason that you should actually exist using a faster card in your Get pro camera, the class ten tin't actually continue upward with all that action going on out there.  Which is the reason that you become blurry pictures some of the time, if you get that with your Go pro.  Personally I tend to use a grade v, fast plenty for those fast moving objects just non really that fast that I am over spending.  Y'all will find that the lower class cards will cost more and then the slower cards practise.  Withal a DSLR camera can make use of the micro-SDHC if you lot have the adapter for it like the Become pro.

So when you get done reading this go buy your go pro a faster card, preferably a class v and then it tin get those activeness shots.

https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/speed_class/

there are two classes to call back well-nigh with sd cards ... the first speed class that is a number in a circle... 10 is faster than six,four,2 and cards that are at least class 10 (some companies may say 6) are recommended for video.

the second grade is a number in the letter U for uhs (ultra high speed)...3 is faster than than i but any card that has whatever uhs grade is at least speed grade 10.

i take never had problems recording 1080p video with an cheap class x card. yous would probably need faster cards to record higher resolution. so you might exist able to save coin that style...

Completely wrong!!!! ten is the fastest "class" for not UHS cards. In that location are faster cards than others in the Class 10 specification as well. The "Form" is really the minimum write speed. So "Class 2" has a minimum write speed of 2Mb/s to authorize for that course and "Form ten" has a minimum write speed of 10Mb/s, though you tin find Class 10 cards 4x that speed.

I practise not use microSD just because it is one more piece that can get lost merely it volition piece of work just fine for you. No formatting issues. Things to consider for compatibility are SD vs SDHC vs SDXC. Cheque your equipment specs to meet what your equipment is capable of using.

apply the gopro for filming...

a dslr is mainly used for photos... you may miss the 2k and 4k video some gopro models are capable of...

some of the benefits of DSLR filming include more depth of field command and interchangeable lenses for dissimilar fields of view... merely different lenses = more money...

if you don't need whatsoever of the in a higher place y'all might consider sticking with the gopro...

I repent for many questions!

First, let me respond your most important question: Aye, the card you have will piece of work JUST FINE in your new DSLR if y'all use an adapter. However, you lot should know that the original MicroSD cards have 8 contacts, while SD cards accept 9 contacts. This wasn't a problem when Pin ix was "reserved," but newer, faster implementations such equally "UHS" (ultra high speed) require at to the lowest degree 9 pins. Then, be careful virtually the microSD-to-SD adapter yous employ, because if it doesn't take all the pins you demand, the menu will work, but it will run more slowly.

The good news is that the microSD bill of fare you've got is many times faster than you need for shooting 1080p video. Yay!

If you're shooting 1080p60 video, you lot'll probably shoot at around 10 mbits per 2nd, possibly 20 mbits per 2d. Your SanDisk is rated for eighty mbytes per second. That's not 4x faster than you lot nened, it's 32x faster than you demand!  Of course y'all want a trivial margin, but you've got more than margin than you need, and its only do good is this: If you lot take the menu out of you camera and put information technology into a fast USB three.0 bill of fare reader, you'll exist able to re-create your 64 GBytes of stuff a whole lot faster, similar 30 minutes faster sometimes. Definitely a plus.

My last word of advice: If you're going to order another of these esoteric high speed cards, purchase them from B&H instead of Amazon. The trouble with Amazon is that in that location are TONS of third-political party sellers, and the tiny footling designations are hands dislocated by greedy merchants trying to shave corners. With B&H, everything is sold direct by them and I'm personally a lot more comfortable with them for a transaction such as this.

Savor your new camera.

SD cards are cheap.  Don't forget yous'll need at to the lowest degree one lens for the DSLR - if you can't afford a couple dedicated SD cards for your DSLR, maybe you should reconsider.  I believe you'll demand at least a course 10 menu for recording video, only do check the specs of the camera yous're purchasing.

I wouldn't utilise MicroSD and an adapter.  It adds another physical interface betwixt the card and the camera for one thing, and for another they're too tiny for me to desire to handle.  Perhaps y'all have small easily, but it'due south not something I want to have to handle more than than once.  I stuck one in my smartphone and there it stays.
